2 large artichokes large onion in the pot 2 tablespoons butter salt and pepper

Large boiling pan fill with water. Add trimmed Artichoke (leaves just the pointy part and the end of the artichoke), onion, butter, salt and pepper. Boil until leaves are completely falling off. You may have to add hot water. I know this next step is hard but you will enjoy. Mix some melted butter and onion salt to taste in a dipping bowl. Dip the leaves in the mixture and only eat the soft part of the leaves. Once you get to the heart, you will want to take a spoon and remove the needles part. The rest you can eat. Now cook and enjoy. (I normally cook for about 3-4 hours just depending on the artichoke)
